Bobbi Brown Deluxe Eye and Cheek Palette
We’re going to be together for the duration of Advent, sharing stories and swapping gift ideas as we count down to Christmas, so it’s probably best I ‘fess up now. Ready?
I’m not sure why people get so giddy over palettes. They just don’t do it for me. Splashing out for eight pans of colour knowing you’ll use, at best, five of them seems daft.
However.
There are palettes, and then there are Bobbi palettes. In the words of Carly Simon, nobody does it better. Every Christmas she comes up with an absolute zinger of a holiday collection, which includes a number of palettes big and small. For a girlfriend or little sister the Caviar Mini Lip & Eye Palette is ideal, with five shadows and a cute pink gloss for £26.50, but I’m besotted with the Deluxe Eye and Cheek Palette, not least because the two-tier design reminds me of a pencil case I had in junior school, with a hidden compartment I used for storing Top Secret notes. The palette’s top layer holds eight dreamy shadows, in shades to create a nude eye, a smoky metallic, or a richy glamourous shimmer. Cleverly tucked beneath lie two blushes—a dusky rose and a brighter pink—and the whole lot snaps shut with a determined click of the chic, black case. If I could only ask for one thing for Christmas, it would be this, but luckily for me, I’ve got another 24 days to keep adding to my list.
