Burberry Kisses Lipstick In Military Red
For years, the top of my Christmas list read BURBERRY TRENCH. I had such high hopes of looking like Audrey Hepburn at the end of Breakfast At Tiffany’s, all upturned collar and gamine elegance, but when the day came for me to try one on, a glance in the mirror, and one word sprang to mind: MATRONLY. Alas, the trench dream was not to be, but I’m still a sucker for the Brit heritage of Burberry, so this year I’ve asked for a lipstick instead. Every year I like to have a new Christmassy red to wear while I’m peeling the sprouts, and this limited edition festive shade is the red of toy soldiers, London buses and Royal Mail post boxes. Think of me at 3pm on the 25th, paper crown on and glass of port in hand, standing up to watch Her Maj with the perfect, holly-red mouth.
