Look at it. LOOK AT IT. This is The One. Fourteen heart-stoppingly lovely make-up brushes in a smart black case. Yes, it’s about a billion pounds, but it clearly states that it’s The ESSENTIAL Brush Set, so evidently every woman needs one, dammit. Without it, we are but hollow husks. Now, I know there’s a slim chance that you won’t be swapping gifts with an oligarch next week —hashtag sadface—and if that’s the case, the individual Kevyn Aucoin brushes, with their long, plum-coloured lucite handles, make wonderful presents too. Aucoin was an utter legend when it came to contouring and he could do things with base that would make a Kardashian blush, so if you are looking at building a collection gradually, I’d ask the big guy in the red suit for The Foundation Brush this year, and go from there.
