Micellar water is the latest cleansing delight for makeup lovers everywhere. You’ve probably heard whispers about it from your clear-skinned best friends or tried our BeautyPrep Face Cleanser yourself, but do you know why it’s so special?
Here’s a quick lesson on what micellar water is, and why you should give it a try!
What is micellar water?
Micellar Water is a combination of water and micelles – liposome particles (tiny balls of cleansing oil molecules) – used to gently cleanse your skin and remove oil.
How does it work?
Similar to the way two cooking oils blend together when combined, the micelles absorb the sebum on your skin to easily cleanse skin without using water or leaving behind an oily residue.
Who should use it?
Anyone! Micellar water is particularly useful if you have sensitive or irritated skin, since it works gently to cleanse your skin without harsh irritants. All you have to do is dampen a cotton pad or cotton ball with the solution, wipe across your face and voila (you may also rinse you skin with water, if you prefer)!
How can it be used?
This gentle cleansing solution can be used in a variety of ways:
- As your daily face cleanser in the morning and evening.
- As a makeup remover.
- If you prefer to double cleanse, wash your face with your preferred cleanser then use micellar water as a moisturizing toner (don’t rinse it off).
- If you need to freshen up, but don’t have access to clean water.
- Instead of facial wipes; micellar water is an eco-friendly alternative.
