Sali’s picked her favourite gift ideas below – we can’t wait to see yours!
Couples: OSKIA ROSE DE MAI SKIN SMOOTHING MASSAGE CANDLE, £34.50
A brilliant and original gift for couples, newlyweds, or yourself. This candle fills the room with a beautiful rosey scent while the ‘wax’ melts to become a rich, nourishing skin oil to cool slightly then pour over the body for massaging. Indulgent, decadent and a bit filthy. Perfect.
Girlfriend: BELLA FREUD GINSBERG IS GOD FIG LEAF AND TOMATO CANDLE, £37
My Bella Freud ‘Ginsberg is God’ jumper is my most treasured item of clothing, so when I was given one of these a couple of years ago, I couldn’t have been happier. Simply the coolest looking candle available, but with as much substance as style. This burns long and evenly, throwing out the most gorgeous fresh scent of a summer greenhouse.
Mum: ELEMIS SKIN NOURISHING MILK BATH, £42
Winter begins with a hot, deep Elemis milk bath. I’ve been using this for years to soften, moisturise and nourish my dry skin. It looks simple and plain, but truly, the fragrance has to be smelled to be believed. Like someone has bottled the sweet, mellow, milky smell of newborn babies.
Partner: DIAMOND CARE SONICARE TOOTHBRUSH, £249
I often give Sonicare toothbrushes as gifts – I bought one for my partner early in our relationship because I refused to stay there and have to use a horrible electric model. Sonic brushes are, in my opinion, in another league to manuals and electric versions. Your teeth will look and feel cleaner than ever before. This is the model I use and includes a very handy USB charger for travel.
The Party Animal: FAUST’S POTIONS AWAKE/ASLEEP HANGOVER CURE, £5.99
A 24-hour, two-step, vitamin packed hangover treatment for times of painful overindulgence or general non-alcohol induced stress. The ‘Sleep’ step helps calm and soothe to optimise sleep, while the morning ‘Awake’ shot helps propel you towards meaningful activity. All for less than the price of a cocktail. Bacon sandwich and fat Coke optional.
Sister: T3 SINGLE PASS FLAT IRON STRAIGHTENERS, £125
Hair straighteners are a daily part of many women’s beauty routines, so it’s important to use a model that’s as kind as possible to hair. These T3 ceramics are loved by beauty experts and heat in just six seconds, delivering sleek, shiny hair in one stroke. Hair feels soft and healthy afterwards. Great for creating curls and waves too.
Teens: TOPSHOP BEST OF BEAUTY EDITORS’ PICKS COLLECTION, £55
Topshop is easily one of the best make-up brands for teens and this is a really cleverly picked set. Containing seven items including Topshop’s brilliant creme blush, eyelining pen and blood red nail polish, this is the perfect kit to set up a teen with great quality, fashionable basics. Any young woman would flip if she received it as a gift.
Beauty Junkies: KEVYN AUCOIN THE CELESTIAL POWDER IN CANDLELIGHT, £34.50
Quite simply one of the all time greatest face powders. This peachy shade is flattering on every skin from palest white to darkest black, and gives a wonderful glowing effect to the complexion. Can be dusted with a fat brush all over foundation to set, or stroked locally on cheek and forehead bones for depth and contour. A classic.
Showbiz fanatic: CHEEKIE CHEEK & LIP SHINE, £19
In over a decade of interviewing Hollywood actresses, this cult product has come up on several occasions. It’s a sheer, dewy-looking balm that prettily tints cheeks and lips in either raspberry or coral. It’s easy to wear, a cinch to apply and is secretly how many off-duty actresses fake the “I’m a natural beauty and don’t need make-up” look.
Dad: OMOROVICZA SOOTHING SHAVE CREAM, £18
Dads rarely treat themselves so make him feel a million dollars with this superior cream shave. I love the Omorovicza spa skincare brand – it’s great quality with reliable results and this men’s product delivers the same. Particularly good on sensitive skins or coarse whiskers, it leaves the chin soft and smooth. Great on legs too.
