Laura Mercier Luxe Travel Brush Collection, £67.50
I was given a version of this a few Christmases ago and I am still using every last brush now. Laura Mercier brushes are just fantastic – I have several and rely on of them heavily to achieve my make-up looks on shoots and at home. This gorgeous chocolate brown and leopard clutch holds Mercier’s nine most useful brushes (including the genius Smudge Brush and extremely clever Angled Liner) and adds a useful little mesh pouch for storing your other products (this snaps magnetically to the inner wall or can be removed altogether and used separately). Each of the smaller brushes is double ended, while the excellent blusher brush goes solo, meaning you can easily do a full face of intricate make-up with just this one kit. Though pricey, the clutch is great value, brush-for-brush, and represents a rare chance to grab a full set in one go (I’ve tried and failed to buy Laura Mercier kits at other times of the year). Put it on your Christmas list, shove it under your partner’s nose, or club in with siblings to buy for your mum. This is as useful as it is gorgeous, and will last for years to come.
