I was going to go all extreme Advent today and link to this amazing box of YSL nail polishes – all beautifully lined up, nestling in a shiny lacquered box, just look at them – and then drop the price on you, which was a tad expensive at £395. Yes, you read that correctly. Luckily for my wallet and yours, the shoppers of Selfridges have cleaned them out, so we can turn to other more moderately priced options.
I do still love the idea of giving someone a big set of polishes in a box (Paperchase always have lovely boxes, and a root around at WH Smith might turn up something too). I’m thinking a base coat, top coat and a nice selection of colours from someone like Essie or Mavala, with Mavala being the cheaper option due to their mini sizes. If you don’t fancy making your own box set up, the Essie Limited Edition Festive Fingertips Set looks excellent value at £24.99 (worth £42) for four polishes and a set of nail wraps. Get painting and sticking.
