Nars The Vault
Close your eyes, take a deep breath and imagine someone loved you enough to give you a sleek, black, futuristic, velvet lined case full of Nars Audacious lipsticks and corresponding nail polishes. Well, François Nars does, although you might have to pop £330 in the post to him first. I’ll assure you that the lipsticks are incredible, pigmented, silken wonders, because you won’t want to actually use them and risk soiling their crisp pointy perfection or getting your dirty human fingerprints on them. I’m sure the nail varnishes are excellent, but I’m afraid you won’t be finding out because ruining their elegant uniformity and tainting them with your disgusting need to touch things and smear them on yourself would just be missing the point.
I hope you enjoy all your Christmas presents, but don’t be ashamed when you need to turn to the wall and wipe away a tear of secret heartbreak that this wasn’t among them. Just try not to squander too much time imagining the quiet swoosh as a lipstick is inserted in its impeccable velveteen bed and the case is closed forever.
