clarins colour quench gel

The sun is out. Grab your sunblock and this.

I’ve been waiting weeks for sunshine partly so I can wear this; and as soon as I’d established that it wasn’t bloody snowing again this morning, on it went. It’s a limited edition summer lipgloss from Clarins, who’ve raised their game so massively in the past two years (remember the Odyssey palette? I’m still drooling), to the point where practically every make-up release is a winner. This is a super shiny (wet, not jammy), moisturising and sheer gloss in two very pretty shades of pink and plum, both of which smell, look and taste exactly like a combination of that cheap, sugary sauce they squirted on your 99 in the ice cream van, and raw Rowntree’s jelly cubes secreted while your mum had her eye on the mixing jug. If that sounds anything but absolutely delicious, then I guess you weren’t a child of the seventies and eighties. I was, and this gloss brings about instant nostalgia and a warm, fuzzy joy.
