We’ve all had those weeks of tired eyes; this past week was particularly busy for me, so I have started to become creative with ways that I can wake up my face. Follow these tips and even if you feel like you may fall asleep at any moment, you will have the world fooled!
1) Color Correct
First, get rid of any redness under or around your eyes. Lemon Smooth Affair for Eyes works wonders, just pat a tiny bit onto your lids, and if you have redness under your lower lash line, use the edge of your Camouflage Brush to gently blend it. Remember, a little goes a long way! On the inner rim of your lash line, use the White Eye Pencil or the White/Pink Eye Highlighter to brighten your whole eye.
When color correcting, yellow cancels out red and peach cancels out blues and grays. This makes Active Light Under-eye Concealer 1 and 2, which have a yellow base, perfect for under eye redness. If you have blue/gray circles under your eyes, Active Light in 3 and 4 are your go-to choices. One of my favorite ways to use active light is to draw “rays” from slightly under the bottom lash line (don’t get too close or it could make your eyeliner smear) to the top of the cheek bone. Then take your ring finger and gently pat it in, the warmth of your finger will perfectly melt the Active Light onto your skin.
2) More Mascara, Less Liner
The next trick is mascara and loads of it. Do not use so much that your lashes become caked but use enough that they appear to be flying away, and in the process holding up your eye lids.
Another tip is to watch the liner. Too much liner on your lower lash line can cause your eyes to look smaller and sleepier. Just line the upper lash line to keep your eyes looking bigger and more awake.
4) Get a Rosy Glow
Lastly, if you are feeling washed out and your usual blush isn’t doing the trick, try an In Touch Cream Blush or even better, Forever Pink Just Kissed Lip and Cheek Stain. Depositing a sheer pop of color with real staying power on your cheeks will instantly brighten your face and make you appear well rested. You can apply it using your fingers to blend, or you can use the Foundation Brush or Blending Brush.
Most importantly, try to fit in your daily allowance of sleep! We have such busy lives but our health should always be a priority!
