MV Organic

A natural skincare range that’s both kind and effective. Get involved.

Not a week goes by without news of a new organic skincare launch and while some are gorgeous, the all-natural ingredients and eco-sensibilities are rarely enough to impress me. I want results first – hand pressed oils of loveliness are much further down the list. MV Organic Skincare has delivered. This is an Australian range for sensitive skins, eczema and rosacea-sufferers, or anyone feeling more aggravated than usual (including post-op patients). It’s loved by women like Rosie Huntington Whiteley, Maggie Gyllenhaal and mega-facialist Nichola Joss. Within the range, there’s a super-gentle and rich, cream cleanser to be used with a hot cloth, and an organic rosewater tonic to calm fiery skins. Both are very lovely. But the star here is MV’s Rose Soothing & Protective Moisturiser, the most beautifully fragrant (naturally, and a bit granny, thanks to rose and geranium oils) day and night cream that manages to be very rich and creamy without heaviness. Like a warm cuddle for the face, it softens, soothes and moisturises my dry, dehydrated face all day. But unusually, this is not some touchy feely cream that feels nice and does nowt special. It makes me look better from the moment I put it on. My skin looks plumper, brighter and smoother. It has a matte finish, doesn’t peel off into little bobbles when I apply make-up and it allows me to skip primer if I’m pushed. The packaging – white aluminium with plastic pumps – is decidedly meh (I wish organic brands would accept they need to sort this out – it seems almost willful to make their products look so crappy), but they are hygienic and practical. But this moisturiser has ticked so many boxes for me, that I really mustn’t grumble.
