NARS PIerre Hardy blush

Witness the fitness of beauty’s coolest new partnership.

I love a designer collaboration and this one made me dribble. Shoe designer Pierre Hardy has applied his signature colour blocking and geometric detailing to a limited edition collection for Nars. I love how focused the collection is, taking just two of the products Nars does best – powder blusher and nail lacquer – and sexing them up. The blusher is a thing of rare beauty. Boys Don’t Cry, a bright pink-tinged coral, and Rotonde, a true peach, are both shot through with a shiny gold grid design that gives the whole blusher some restrained sparkle when swirled together with a brush.

The nail colours are in duos, all brilliantly conceived and based on Hardy’s shoe designs. My favourites – Vertebra, Ethno Run and Sharplines – are also the boldest in the collection. You can pop one on toes and the other on fingers to look co-ordinated without matching, or wear them side by side, perhaps with each appearing as a contrasting accent nail on the other hand. Crucially, the quality here is great. We all know Nars makes some of the best powder blusher and I’ve longsince said their polishes are some of the best in the luxe category – they go on smoothly, densely and then stay the hell there. They also last very well in the bottle without going sticky. The only problem with Pierre Hardy for Nars is that one must cross the pain barrier to use it. Everything is so bloody gorgeous that it’s too tempting to lock it away where it can never be touched.

Pierre Hardy for Nars Limited Edition powder blushers, £30, and nail polish duos, £22.
