Sali reveals her go to palette for Autumn / Winter
Okay, so this is my favourite palette in ages. This is why: It suits everyone. Packed with super wearable nudes and earthy blacks that suit every single colouring, from whitest redhead to blackest brunette, this is a seriously versatile bit of kit (I’m talking about Fade In. I’m less keen on the Fade Out colour option). The khaki and black shades – both shot through with gold – make absolutely gorgeous liners, all sexy and grown-up grungey, while the matte chocolate brown and shimmery taupe make great socket definers. Seriously, there’s not a dud in this entire set. Also, it’s glamorous. I am tired and weary with all the natural, bronzey and pastel summer shades – this, by contrast, is unapologetically partyish in the way only wintry make-up can be. Thirdly, the brush is good, if limited to base and lid colour (I always apply my socket colour with a MAC 219 brush). This kind of quality tool is as rare as hen’s teeth in a palette. Lastly, these shadows are easy to blend and very buildable. Wear the more natural shades by day, then ramp up for evening by layering over the blacks. I would say that if you buy only one palette this year, make it this one. And if you can’t be bothered with shadows, or you have pesky hooded lids, fear not. Bypass the faff and get the same gorgeous black-gold from the matching Waterproof Shadow Liner, £17, which I’ve also been wearing loads (I am obsessed with these crayons generally, as you have probably realised by now).
